On Tuesday, October 24, 2017, the legal and medical communities came together, along with representatives and clients of the Brain Injury Association of the Ottawa Valley, for the eleventh annual fundraising event. In past years, the October event has been a sit down dinner and silent auction. This year, things were shaken up a bit! This year’s cocktail reception event was held at Algonquin College. There was excellent food, a silent auction, 50/50 draw and a balloon pop for prizes.

Guests were entertained by OrKidstra, an organization that provides youth with opportunities to find their voice and realize their potential through music, and Amada Couttreau and Raymundo Pizana who also provided excellent musical entertainment. Guests also heard from Jan Gilbert, the mother of a brain injury survivor, and Wendy Charbonneau, the President of the Brain Injury Association of the Ottawa Valley. Both gave inspring and heartfelt speeches. A video highlighting the Brain Injury’s Step Up Program rounded out the evening.

We were proud at Burn Tucker Lachaîne to be the presenting sponsor, along with co-sponsor, Modern OT, for this event which raised almost $30,000.00 in support of the Brain Injury Association of the Ottawa Valley.
