Burn Tucker Lachaîne is hiring a receptionist on a flexible part-time, permanent basis. The position will be 20-25 hours per week over 4 or 5 days.
We are a boutique law firm specializing in plaintiff personal injury and long-term disability claims. We have an extraordinary team of 13 lawyers, law clerks, paralegals, legal assistants and a bookkeeper and we are looking for an organized and dedicated person to cover our reception at our Ottawa office.
This is a busy position, with responsibility for answering phone calls, dealing with emails, faxes, couriers and mail, greeting clients, and contributing to a team effort by helping with administrative work for the bookkeeper, law clerks and lawyers in the office. You must be able to handle a busy work environment, multiple and varied tasks, and work independently and as part of a team. You will need to have excellent organizational skills and be able to take initiative and direction.
The ideal candidate will have experience working as a receptionist, but we will consider new graduates from office administration or legal assistant programs. Experience with PC Law and Primafact or other legal accounting and document management software is an asset.
Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset but is not required.
Our office is located in the Alta Vista area of Ottawa and parking is available. We offer a competitive salary, commensurate with experience, extended health, dental and vision benefits, and an opportunity to work with a collegial team. Our team is currently working based on a hybrid model with remote work and in-office work. However, the receptionist position is an in-office position.
To apply, please submit your application, in confidence, via email only at kmayhew@burntucker.com. Applications should be submitted in English but we do also encourage you to submit a parallel application in French. Reference letters are appreciated. While we wish to thank all who apply, only those candidates who are selected for an interview will be contacted. No telephone inquiries please
