WICC Raises Money for Cancer Education and Research
We were so pleased to have been invited by Phyllis Bergmans to attend the Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC) Sugar Bush Breakfast at the Trillium Ballroom at the Shaw Centre on April 26, 2019. It was a wonderful event organized to help raise funds for cancer research and education. We had a chance to connect with our colleagues in the insurance and personal injury industry in one of the most beautiful ballrooms in the City. Against this beautiful backdrop, we had the opportunity to read some inpsiring poetry written by cancer survivors. We also learned that cancer is now estimated to affect 1 in 2 people and we heard how the funds raised by WICC help cancer patients in Canada.
Since its inception in 1996, the Ontario branch of WICC has raised and donated almost $3.5 million to the Canadian Cancer Society.
