An Ontario man suffered serious injuries after he was involved in a motorcycle accident on Aug. 22. Police said that the injuries suffered by the others involved in the crash were not significant. According to the report, the crash took place in Oshawa on Winchester Road near Simcoe Street around 4:30 p.m.

Witnesses who observed the accident told the authorities that a Chevrolet pickup truck was travelling east on Winchester Road when it struck the back end of a stopped motorcycle. The impact from the collision caused the motorcycle to become wedged beneath the pickup truck. Both the 49-year-old rider and the motorcycle were then pushed into two other vehicles that had stopped in the eastbound lane.

Emergency crewmembers had to extricate the motorcycle rider from between two vehicles before he was taken to hospital with injures that were described as serious. The following day, he was in stable condition. It was not known if the driver of the Chevrolet was charged for his or her involvement in causing the accident.

When a motorcycle or motor vehicle accident occurs, all of those who are involved could suffer serious injuries that could impact their lives, including traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries or broken bones.
