June was Brain Injury Awareness month and the team at Burn Tucker Lachaîne participated in many different events giving back to the cause.
To kick off the month, the team at Burn Tucker Lachaîne participated in the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association’s Helmets on Kids program. This program is intended to put a helmet on the head of every child who needs one and provides education and awareness about the use of helmets.
For the 11th year, Burn Tucker Lachaîne sponsored and attended the Cornwall Police Service’s Bikes and Badges event, where children in the community were provided with a helmet, bicycle inspection, and lessons on bicycle safety and the rules of the road.
On June 11th, the team at Burn Tucker Lachaîne sponsored and participated in Vista Centre’s 14th Annual Brain Injury Awareness Day, where expert speakers offered research and valuable insights to survivors, family members, service providers and clinicians. Members of the team at Burn Tucker Lachaîne had the opportunity to network with brain injury survivors, healthcare professionals specializing in brain injuries, and other legal professionals who offer services to brain injury survivors.
Finally, on June 18th, the team at Burn Tucker Lachaîne sponsored and participated in the 12th Annual Fleming Fitness Golf Tournament. Patrick Fleming and his team at Fleming Fitness successfully raised $14,000.00 at this year’s tournament, bringing a grand total of over $200,000.00 raised for the Brain Injury Association of the Ottawa Valley since the inception of this incredible event.
Brain Injury Awareness Month is a time to recognize the resilience of survivors and the importance of prevention, education, and support in the community. For the team at Burn Tucker Lachaîne, this month holds special meaning—not only because of the firm’s longstanding commitment to advocating for brain injury survivors, but also because it provides an opportunity to connect with the people and organizations making a real difference.
