Together with Modern OT, our firm is once again proud to be the presenting sponsor for the Fall fundraising event for the Brain Injury Association of the Ottawa Valley. This year’s event will be differnt due to COVID-19 and physical distancing requirements. We have turned to a virtual platform in order to continue the important work of raising funds for the Brain Injury Association of the Ottawa Valley’s Step Up Program, which provides important connections and community for its members.
This year we are coming together to talk about racism; the reality that affects so many in our community, including those with brain injuries.
We encourage all to participate:
When: October 28, 2020.
Time: 3-4pm.
Cost: There is no set fee for tickets, rather we hope you will make a donation to the BIAOV as you register. A tax receipt will be issued with your registration.
Please consider attending, donating, or sharing the link to invite others to participate: https://biaov.org/14th-annual-fall-fundraiser/
We already have several generous sponsors for this event, but more are welcome! Sponsors donating $500 or more will be acknowledged during the event and on the BIAOV website, as well as at next year’s event. Please reach out to cburn@burntucker.com or to lmitchell@burntucker.com if you would like to be a sponsor.
The virtual event will involve a 30 minute presentation by Dr. Margot McKinnon followed by smaller group discussions in break out rooms including Councillor Rawlson King. We hope this event will be a step in the right direction to unite us all as we reflect on experiences and interactions with racism in our professional and personal lives. Join us in moving our community toward decision making that improves the experiences of all participants, including those with brain injuries.
I hope to see you at this very worthwhile event!!!
